Kepiting Bulan (istilah lokal Indonesia) atau kepiting karang totol (istilah inggris) diketemukan di daerah terumbu karang pada substrat pasir. Dicirikan oleh adanya totol pada karapasnya. Aktif pada malam hari. Secara Taksonomi adalah sebagai berikut :

Moon crab (Indonesian nomenclature) or spotted reef crab (English nomenclature) was colected at coral reef area on sand surface.  To be easily identified by the presence of spots located on its carapace. It’s nocturnal crab.

Kepiting Bulan yang di Taman Nasional kepulauan Seribu (TNKpS) disebut dengan Kepiting Plongkor.  Masyarakat memasaknya dengan cara membelah, merebus dan menyiramnya dengan kuah kuning. Cukup ditumis pedas atau dengan saus tiram. 

Moon crab was called as Kepiting Plongkor by local communities at Kepulauan Seribu National Park. How to cook? Be split, then boilling in the water and finally it’s smothered by yellow sauce seasoning. It’s very delicious. Or it’s cooked by saute the spices or oyster souce.

Saya menangkapnya pada saat selam malam bersama Ardi Putra (Gondrong) disekitar Dermaga Wisata SPTN Wilayah Pulau Kelapa di Pulau Kelapa Dua, kedalaman 5 meter pukul 19.05 wib. Nelayan di TNKpS juga menangkap pada saat ngobor (mencari ikan malam hari).

I was cathed a moon crab, while I night dive with Ardi Putra (Gondrong) inside waters of a wharf touris at Kelapa Dua Island, Kepulauan Seribu National Park. Depth of location is five (5) meters at 19.05 wib. The Fisherismen at Kepulauan Seribu National Park can do it by ngobor (looking for fish at night).
